Marcia Espinosa is a Chilean-Australian visual artist. Her artistic process began in Chile a country marked by highly politicised and religious society.
“My practice has always been in connection with our society, my art has the intention to touch the spectator in certain way that it prompts questions about his life, society and it’s fundamentals.”
Mrs Espinosa has exhibited her artwork in individual and collective exhibitions; she was selected by the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art to exhibit at the Hatched National graduate exhibition in 2015. Her artworks are a part of private collections in Chile, Peru and Australia, including the permanent art collection of the Central Institute of Technology (TAFE).
In her paintings and her mixed media works, we could appreciate traces of her Latino influences where events, objects and thought are combined with rich colours energy and a touch of humour and irony.
